What Is My IP Address?
Your public IP address, whether it’s IPv4 or IPv6, its reverse DNS name and your browser’s network details – everything support asks for, ready to copy.
Your public IP address is how the internet – and our server – sees your connection. Support teams ask for it to allow-list you, read their logs or check a block. This page shows it straight away, along with the reverse DNS name, your browser and time zone, and a ready-to-send summary for your IT support.
When you need it
- Asking a provider to allow-list your office for remote access, SFTP or a database.
- Checking that your VPN is working – the address should change when it connects.
- Setting up port forwarding – test the address with the Open Port Checker.
Behind CGNAT?
If your router’s WAN address starts with 100.64–100.127, or differs from the address shown here, your ISP shares one public IP between many customers (CGNAT). Inbound connections and port forwarding won’t work – ask your ISP for a public or static IP.
Preguntas frecuentes
Why is my IP different from the one on my router?
If your router’s WAN address is in 100.64.0.0/10 or a private range, your ISP uses carrier-grade NAT (CGNAT): many customers share one public IP, and port forwarding from the internet won’t work.
Does my IP change?
Most home connections get a dynamic IP that can change after a router restart. Businesses that host services or need allow-listing should ask their ISP for a static IP.
