WHOIS & Domain Expiry Lookup
Who is the registrar, when was the domain registered, when does it expire, which nameservers does it use and is it locked? Full WHOIS record included.
A domain that expires takes the website and every mailbox with it. Look up any domain to see its registrar, registration and expiry dates, nameservers, DNSSEC and the status locks that protect it from unauthorised transfers – with the full WHOIS record underneath.
What to check
- Expiry date – put it in your calendar and turn on auto-renew with a card that won’t expire first.
- clientTransferProhibited – the transfer lock. Keep it on unless you are moving registrar.
- Nameservers – they decide where all your DNS lives. Unexpected nameservers are a red flag.
- clientHold / serverHold – the domain is suspended and won’t resolve. Contact the registrar.
Lost access to the registrar account?
Recover it before the domain comes up for renewal. Once it expires and passes the redemption period, anyone can register it – and with it receive your email.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the owner’s name hidden?
Since GDPR (2018) most registries redact personal contact details. To reach a domain owner, use the contact form or email relay the registrar provides.
What does clientTransferProhibited mean?
The registrar lock is on – the domain can’t be moved to another registrar until you switch it off. Keep it on unless you are transferring.
